Our bronze sculptures come from master artisans in Surabaya, Java who follow the traditional Lost Wax Method technique of casting. An extensive amount of time and delicate work goes into the production of each sacred image. This tradition and complex skill is passed on from generation to generation and goes back over 10 centuries. Devotional Arts Co assures you that our sculptures are among the best quality coming from Java today. All of the artwork is handmade and is not reproduced on a large scale. Historically, only the temples and the very wealthy could afford to commission true, five metal bronze deities. The five metals were gold, silver, copper, tin and lead. For contemporary bronze; copper, tin, zinc and lead are the main ingredients. Our statues come in 5 patinas (finishes); silver, gold, copper (green), bronze (brown), and aged bronze (black).
